Privacy policy

1. Information processed by the app

StatEdu Sync reads the contents, names, paths, sizes, modification times and comparison hashes of files in folders you select to compare, synchronize, verify, preserve and restore them. Your selected files may contain personal information.

Copies are written to your selected local disks, removable drives or connected network shares. If you choose a network share or a cloud-synchronized folder, its operator or cloud service may process those files under its own policies. This is your selected destination, not an upload to StatEdu.

2. Local storage and retention

Folder pairs, synchronization directions, language and schedule preferences, comparison caches, operation and error records that may include file paths, and recovery information are stored in the app's local data locations. Previous file versions remain in the operation's backup location, including .statedu-sync in destination folders. Mac App Store builds may retain security-scoped bookmarks in their app container to access folders you authorized.

Optional local-history preservation copies the selected conversation history and attachments to your chosen archive destination, not to StatEdu. Local data remains until you remove it or an applicable retention setting removes it. Uninstalling the app does not necessarily delete originals, synchronized copies, backups, settings or logs.

The app uses communication within your device for its interface. The reviewed app code contains no advertising, external usage analytics or automatic crash-reporting collection.

3. Support forms and email

If you email sync@statedu.com, we receive your sender address, display name, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use this to reply, troubleshoot and handle privacy requests, not for marketing. The website form requires a reply email, category, operating system, subject and description. App version and attachments are optional. You may decline consent, but the form cannot then be submitted.

When a request is resolved, the support operator moves the related incoming and outgoing messages to Trash without unnecessary delay. Trash retention is set to 30 days, and messages are removed according to the mail service’s retention and deletion policies. Separately saved attachments and copies are deleted when the request is resolved. The operator determines when a request is resolved and moves the messages to Trash. If a dispute or legal obligation requires further retention, only the necessary information is retained separately until that reason ends. You may ask about or request deletion through the same address. Deletion includes mailbox messages and saved copies.

Do not send passwords, access keys, government identifiers, medical or financial records, or original work files. Redact personal names from screenshots and file paths.

4. Website and cookies

sync.statedu.com uses Cafe24 hosting. IP addresses, request URLs, access times, browser information and response results may be processed in access and security logs to deliver pages, investigate errors and prevent abuse. Cafe24's standard web-log retrieval interface provides the previous seven days. That retrieval window is not a statement about deletion of all internal hosting-provider records. Separately retained security-incident records are deleted when their purpose is complete.

The website provides a support form. Form contents and attachments are sent to the support mailbox, not stored in a separate ticket database or public media folder. Uploaded files pass through private server temporary storage during processing and are removed when request processing ends. To limit repeated submissions and abuse, a keyed hash of the connection IP rather than its raw value and short-lived submission counters are temporarily stored. We have not added visitor registration, checkout, advertising or visitor analytics. WordPress administrator sign-in and security functions may use necessary cookies. Language selection uses a URL parameter and does not create tracking cookies. You can remove or block cookies in your browser; this may affect administrator sign-in.

5. Service providers and external services

Cafe24 Corp. provides website hosting and domain email services. Website records and support email may be processed to deliver and secure those services. We do not sell personal information or provide app files to advertising or analytics vendors.

Microsoft Store and Apple App Store account, download, transaction and diagnostic information is handled according to their respective services and settings. StatEdu does not collect payment-card details through this app. Review the relevant service's privacy policy when following external links or selecting externally managed folders. The app has no feature that automatically uploads files to an overseas StatEdu server.

6. Safeguards

The website uses HTTPS. App file access uses operating-system permissions, and local interface communication uses access checks. App-level encryption is not guaranteed for local originals, copies or logs. Use device locks, disk encryption and appropriate share permissions, and protect removable media. Support information is handled only by those who need it to address the request; we do not ask for unrelated files.

7. Your choices and rights

You can change selected folders and schedules, stop operations and manage retained versions. See Privacy choices and deletion. StatEdu cannot remotely access or erase your local files.

Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction or withdrawal of consent for information you provided to StatEdu. We use only the identity verification needed for the request and handle it under applicable law, explaining any restriction. We do not intentionally collect information from children. A parent or guardian may request deletion of a child's support correspondence.

8. Changes

We update this page and its effective date when practices change. Where new consent is required, we obtain it before the relevant change. This policy covers StatEdu Sync and this website, not every other StatEdu service.
